PRO TEAM OUTREACH

The Foundation begins the process before the team shows up to race by coordinating with event promoters, local bike shops and schools in nearby areas. The Foundation schedules speaking engagements to motivate and inspire children in tandem with race day fieldtrips to provide hands-on experience in all areas of a pro cycling team for area youth. Through partnerships with event promoters and local bike shops, the Foundation creates a platform for ongoing and sustainable support long after the completion of the cycling event.

As part of our commitment to education, the Foundation emphasizes how the knowledge and skills learned in school are applied in the jobs of a professional cycling team. By using interactive demonstrations, we show kids how academics can translate into important careers within cycling, and other industries. In addition to a team experience, local youth also have access to our partners for fieldtrips to showcase their facilities and integrate their operations into the value of education.

Race day is an exciting time for program youth with extensive team involvement and exclusive access to the race. However the cornerstone of their involvement is introducing kids to local bike shops, Foundation volunteers and cycling clubs to foster continued interest in the sport resulting in a sustainable footprint. The Bahati Foundation works with these groups to build annual and ongoing support and consensus.

The Bahati Foundation works with local communities to provide inspiration for underprivileged youth through the sport of cycling along with funding for education and music in schools. Today’s youth have a lot of influences on their lives and in many cases these influences are not always positive ones. The Bahati Foundation seeks to provide these positive experiences and resources to kids while supporting their need for increased real-world exposure and meaningful educational opportunities.
