Bahati Foundation x SBT GRVL 2022

When we set out to build up the community around us, we knew it had to involve cycling in all forms and disciplines. Rahsaan Bahati is a 10-time National Cycling Champion and has been racing competitively since the age of 13. Not until last year, or so, he started to dip his toe into gravel bike racing and has not looked back.

This year, we are excited to introduce gravel bike racing to a group of selected students from the Los Angeles area. We’ve partnered with SBT GRVL, a world-class gravel race experience held on some of the greatest gravel roads on earth.

In partnership with SBT GRVL we are raising $10,000 to cover all travel costs for six students, most from Los Angeles to Colorado in August to embark on the 100-mile. SBT GRVL is fun, but not without challenge.

Two weekends ago the Bahati Foundation and SBT GRVL hosted a fundraiser ride and raised about $3,000 towards our goal.

Outside of being a good kid — I’m actually meeting with many of their parents — Perhaps they come from a family that doesn’t have the means to provide everything that traveling racing entails. I was one of those kids. My parents wanted to support me, but they couldn’t afford $1,500 wheels, flights to nationals, things like that. Not that these families are asking, but we just want to help.
— Rahsaan Bahati
