The Bahati Foundation Presents Gravel Race Next Legends

How old were you when you took the training wheels off your first bike? For Maize Wimbush, she was four years old, and she clicked into her first peddles at age 9. This year, Maize and four other young accomplished riders embarked on their first Gravel Race in Steamboat, CO, during the SBT Gravel Event.

From the excitement of the podium for Sarah Vargas, Nicolas Alonso, and Yazeed Albadarin to the grit and grace of Maize and Azyra’s performances on a challenging course, it was an epic event, and the Bahati Foundation is honored to be a part of their journey. We partnered with SBT GRVL, a world-class gravel race experience on some of the most excellent gravel roads on earth, to send five young talented riders to compete in their first gravel race.

In partnership with SBT GRVL, we raised $10,000 to cover all travel costs for six students, most from Los Angeles to Colorado, in August to embark on the 100-mile.

Our friends at Strava captured the unforgeable moment all weekend!

We also want to give a special thank you to our volunteers ( Rudy, Peta ,and David) who traveled and accompanied the young riders throughout the event. Thank you
